Before you change the auto pilot, that is if is the original autohelm. Check the circuit board in the junction box on the autohelm computer. We had a similar problem on board our Santorin, Khamsin B. We found that over time, the metal strips on the circuit board had deterioriated and developed micro cracks. Luckily one of the club members is an electronics wiz and was able to replace the board. 4 years ago, at minimal cost and it has works fine since.
