Eric, given all you've written you may Also want to send an oil sample from the transmission. Given a clean bottom/prop and you are turning 3000 the only slippage can be a broken keyway on the prop shaft or a worn transmission/clutch coupling System
Best of luck my friend.

Eric,

Be sure to check the function of your turbocharger. I had a problem with the
engine failing to come up to more than 2200 RPM, and it struggled to get
there. The turbo was properly cleaned and . no problem mon.

Eric we often send oil samples by express air. The NAPA samples go in a
small glass jar inside a plastic jar. Never had an issue. Bring the same as
CHECKED baggage should not be an issue.

Hey Eric, check with the specific airline. They have definitive lists on
their web sites or try to get a rep on the phone. I do know that the
scanners will pick up petroleum based stuff and alert the moron operating
the luggage scanning machine. Be sure that the vessel is perfectly clean. I
ruined a test once from detergent residue in the container!

Hi Joel,

I heard from Caterpillar with respect to the fluid tests.

They referred me to Curacao.

Do you know if a small bottle of oil can be shipped in checked baggage
back
to the USA?

Also, check with the manufacturers authorized dealer/service provider in
the
area where the boat is to find out who they use and authorize to
evaluate
fluid samples. The shops who do inaccurate oil analysis are soon
discovered,
especially in a focused area like a Caribbean island. Don't try to carry
oil
samples in carry-on baggage because the HS Nazis won't get it.

All the best,

Joel
