Re: Bad odours coming from the A/C

Hi Martin,
I can't vouch for your 54 but for sure in a Super Maramu the first place that I notice a bad smell that indicates the bilge needs cleaned is in the forward heads.
There is no "P" trap in the grey hard plastic pipe that takes the shower and basin water back to the bilge, therefore when you get a smelly bilge the odor tracks back up the pipe and into the heads, this happens forward and aft.
Turn on the aircon and the blower mixes it up and sends it throughout the saloon.
Using Javel tablets or any other substance with chlorine will kill the smell but unfortunately it will rather quickly eat through and destroy your copper grounding strap.

Hi everybody,

Whenever we leave our boat for a couple of days, the A/C creates nasty odours. I assume, that this is because the cooling water hoses are not gas tight.

The A/C smell in the owners cabin is the worst.

Does anybody have experience in resolving this issue?

Your support is highly appreciated.
