Re: [Amel] AGM batteries

Just my opinion---I believe Amel installed lead acid batteries ( group 31 on my boat) because they are standard truck batteries. They are available worldwide.

If you happen to have a problem with an agm battery in some far off place it would be very difficult to replace. I would stick with the lead acid batteries.

In any event , I believe some of the dolphin chargers have a knob that will allow charging AGM batteries.

Subject: [Amel] AGM batteries

Has anyone installed AGM batteries in the SM? Are they compatible with existing charger? (maintenance free lead acid batteries were used so far) Can anyone recommend a brand? Size matters as we all know, it needs to fit under the bunk!
Any advice welcome.
