I just had the same problem with a “pre-stretched” line from Lyros which is 100% polyester. But it happened only in very strong wind (above 40 knots). After 1 year, the outer part of the line has loosed her shiny aspect and it seem the problem is solved. I believe the problem didn’t come from the inner part of the line (spectra, dyneema or polyester) but from the outer part which is quite always in polyester. I also bought a new boom winch wheel (in stock at Amel). I hope it will help. Since then, I didn’t sailed in more than 40 knots of wind. I’m also interested by other’s experience.
Fair wind
