Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Complete 220v failure

Mark Erdos

Richard,

Are you referring to the one on the side of the 220 AC panel that is accessed by opening the pull up door (auto pilot access)?

Best regards,

Mark

Mark there is a main breaker behind the 220 switch panel on the SM's I assume there is on the 2000's too.

Alexandre,

I was hoping, if there is an Amel installed master breaker or self resetting  fuse somewhere, someone might point me to it J

I couldn’t find anything.

Good morning Mark,

That is weird...
The important is that it is back to normal...

Once I did a mistake and had to reset the 220 volt breakeron the right inside the closet to access the instrument in the galley.

In your case, I wonder if somewhere there is a not fuse that would reset itself when no power is connected.

Okay. This is weird. I read
with dismay about Kent’s big ball of rust. I thought to
myself that it would be a good idea to wash out the anchor
locker. It seemed like a great idea at the time.  I think it would be a good
idea for a person of small size (I think that is politically
correct enough) to make themselves available to boat owners.
I have yet to own a boat where my arms and legs didn’t get
in the way. Anyway, here I am, in a position that Kent knows
only too well, scrubbing and bleaching. I found my high
water alarms work just fine. Next thing I know is the
forward AC stop. I am being very careful to keep the hose
and water inside the anchor locker so I am pretty sure I
didn’t get anything wet that wasn’t supposed to get wet.
And besides, what I was doing may not have any influence on
the power failure. Who knows!  I had a complete 220v shut
down. Nothing worked. I had power coming to the boat as
indicated on my Blue Sea power meter. Just for the heck of
it, I reset the breaker at the dock. Nothing. I traced my
shore power cable to the A/B switch (we have an option to
switch to a 16A Charles Marine Isolation Transformer).
Nothing! I turned on the Genset. Nothing.  I turned off everything and
unplugged the shore power. I continued to look for perhaps a
main breaker I do not know about between my A/B/Genset
switchover box and the 220 panel. I did not find anything.
30 minutes later I plugged the shore power back in and
everything works fine. And, has worked fine ever
since.  Am I missing something
here?    Best regards,  Mark  SM2K #275www.creampuff.us
