Re: early maramu in mast furling



The issue with early in-mast furling units is that they were made for Amel by a company called Nirvana which has been out of business for decades. As a result, you can't just order parts and replacement parts may have to be fabricated. 

If you buy a Maramu with a conventional main and mizzen, you'll have an Isomat rig that you can still find parts for. The main and mizzen aren't that big and are easily managed. When Henri Amel originally designed the Maramu, he didn't even use a furler for the genoa.
