In case it helps, on my previous boat, an Oyster 435 I had an inner forestay fitted but it was fixed less than three feet from the top of the mast to avoid the need for running backstays. This was on the advice of Oyster and they called a slutter rig. I too would be interested to see how and where to fit the track  on the deck of an SM2K. The only problem with it was that the new fixings for the inner forestay or sheave box projected into the mast and chafed through a headstay halyard. However the rigger returned and fixed that problem. The purchaser of that boat sailed around the world on it without problems with it.

What about backstays? I would expect that this was required, at least in heavy weather?
