Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] winterize in water

Hi don't forget to flush the salt water pump for the anchor and to put some anti-freeze in the bilge and pump it through the building we preferred to run automotive any freeze and leave it in the engine as a rust preventative. Be sure to blow out the fresh water lines throughout the boat. Then disconnect the lines to the freshwater pump take out the filter cartridges if you have any. Don't forget to put anti-freeze in the bilge itself with some vinegar to kill the bacteria and stop it from freezing. Be sure to pump some of that any freeze that you put in the bills so that the pump itself is protected. Have you check the coolant in the engine to be sure that it will withstand temperatures of about 15 below. Don't forget to spray some rust preventative on the engine to prevent deterioration over the winter. Have you placed water absorbing material throughout the boat to prevent mildew as a result of condensation over the winter. Good luck and enjoy your boot.
