PAINS WESSEX ANNOUNCES TOTAL RECALL OF ALL white collision
warning (MK7) hand flares, Item No. 52651

Following investigations carried out after an incident in which a
member of the public was injured, Pains Wessex has announced a
total recall of all its Pains Wessex White Collision Warning
(MK7) Hand Flares Item No 52651.

No Red (MK7) Hand Flares nor any other Pains Wessex products are
being recalled. The recall does not affect Pains Wessex Australia
Aurora Hand Flares.

Pains Wessex has identified that there may be a risk that some of
these white flares will not fire as intended. All white flares
are therefore being recalled as a safety precaution.
Additionally, this total recall will allow us to bring these
products into our continuing investigation.

The Pains Wessex White Collision Warning (MK 7) Hand Flare Item
No 52651 is sold on its own and is also contained as a part of
the Collision Warn-Off Kit and the ORC RORC Distress Kit.

Customers with in-date Pains Wessex White Collision Warning (MK7)
Hand Flares Item No 52651 are requested not to use the flare, and
to return it immediately to the place of purchase where the
purchase price will be refunded. If unable to return the flare to
the place of purchase, customers may take the flare to their
nearest chandler.

USA(SE) WELCOMES SPRING ON THE CHESAPEAKE - 4-7 JUNE
Jim and Pepper McHutchison have put together a great OCC SPRING
CRUISE for all members who will be in the Chesapeake
June 4 - 7. We will assemble on Sunday, June 4th, in Dun Cove on
Harris Creek just north of Knapp's Narrows (38deg. 44.8N,
76deg.21.1W). Launches will transport us to a welcoming dinner at
Harrison's, Tilghman Island ($30/person). Monday evening we'll
rendezvous on the Wye River for a raft-up. Tuesday we visit
Baltimore's Inner Harbor (39deg.17N, 76deg.36.7W) anchoring near
square-rigger U.S.S. Constellation or mooring in Henderson's
marina at Fells Point and having dinner ashore. Tours of Fort
McHenry of "Star-Spangled Banner" fame will be available. The
finale will be Wednesday afternoon at Gibson Island Yacht
Squadron's clubhouse for a barbecue - a really nice way to

REGALIA IN THE UNITED STATES (5/2006)
After working with a website designer, OCC regalia will be easier
to purchase on-line. Located at www.IM-Embroidery.com, the new
"shopping cart" makes it possible to select items and pay by
credit card or cash using PayPal. Orders are sent directly to
Gary and Greta, are processed within 48 hours or less, and,
depending on the item and personalization, are shipped within 24
hours of order completion.

Persons not using credit card or PayPal can still place an order
on-line; however, payment in the form of a check or a money order
should be mailed to IM Embroidery, P.O. Box 3214, Norfolk,
Virginia 23514 at the time of the order. Shipments are not made
until payment is received.

Gary and Greta offer a wide range of regalia items, including the
much sought after burgee. These durable nylon burgees are
reinforced at the tip of the fly making them less susceptible to
wind damage. They currently offer 18 and 24 inch burgees, an 18
inch house flag and the Port Officer flag. They also can

HALLOWEEN RALLY AT BEAUFORT, NORTH CAROLINA (6/2006)
The second annual Halloween Rally at Beaufort, NC, will take
place on October 28-29, 2006. We will meet on the Beaufort
waterfront on the afternoon of Saturday the 28th, have some
cocktails and then dinner. On Sunday the 29th we will take a
day cruise to Cape Lookout Bight and back, weather permitting.

TOBY BAKER (Rear Commodore, USA Northeast) (04/2006)
Rear Commodore USA (NE) Toby Baker announces the details of the
Maine Rally which will be held at Southwest Harbor, Maine on July
21, 2006 at the home of Roving Rear Commodores Nancy & George
Marvin at 10 Seascape Way. The venue includes wine, beer, soft
drinks, dinner and dessert, beginning at 1700 hours. Cost is $25
per person, $10 for children under 14. For those arriving by boat
transportation will be provided for the approximately 2 mi to
their house. Pick-up will be at the Manset Town Dock and will
commence at 1630 and those who will require transportation should
so indicate with their reservation. Despite what guide books may
indicate, anchoring is permitted in Southwest Harbor but do not
anchor in the fairway leading to the head of the harbor. Moorings
are available from the Harbormaster (VHF 16/09) or Hinckley's
(call Hinckley Dock on VHF 10) and dockage is available from
Dysart's Great Harbor Marina (207-244-0117). For those arriving
by car, directions will be provided upon request. Additionally,
George & Nancy are requesting volunteers arriving by car to help
shuttle the boat people to and from the party. Reservations are
requested by July 15 and may be made along with additional

Congratulations to the 222 Members (at the time of writing this)
who have succeeded in creating their own account on The OCC Web
Site, www.oceancruisingclub.org . If you have not yet done so,
please have a go at this so that you may update your own contact
details, yacht, experience and sailing plans on the web. Soon,
you will be able to pay your subscription by secure payment on
line. Later this year we will provide a page on the web for every
member to publish extracts from their log. BUT TO DO ALL THIS YOU
NEED YOUR OWN USER NAME AND PASSWORD.

TO CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT
Please open www.oceancruisingclub.org. and click on 'No Account
Yet, Create One' at the very bottom left hand side of the Home
Page, under Login Form. Select a User Name (no spaces permitted
in this) and enter your e-mail address. If you can not find "No
Account Yet .", Log out of the Web Site (your computer has
probably logged you in automatically as flying and fish) and try
again. You must use an e-mail address already known to the OCC
and which is able to receive an activation message from the OCC.
Choose a Password, and as a security check, enter the name of the
yacht in which you qualified for the OCC. You will then receive
an automatic e-mail to which you must respond to activate your
account.

The message will contain a web address such as
http://www.oceancruisingclub.org/index.php?option=com_registration&;task=acti
vate&activation=XXXXXXX.
Either click on this or copy it and paste it into the web address
window and press <return>. This will activate your account.

TO UPDATE YOUR DETAILS ON THE OCC DATABASE
You can then log in with your own user name and password. Click
on "My Details" to see, and update if necessary, your record on
the Club database. Please use this opportunity to complete and
amend the details on the "My Details Form" to bring your Club
Record up to date, including your "sailing experience" and "plans
aboard" for 2006.

OLD LOG IN PROCESS STILL AVAILABLE FOR "READ ONLY" ACCESS
For a short transitional period you may still log in using
username <flying>, password <fish>, or username <Ocean2>,
password <Blackjack> to allow members who have not set up their
own account to read information but not to change personal
records or make payments. Please do not change the "My Details"
username or password for <flying> or <Ocean2> as you may deny
access to other members! Soon, you will not be able to get in to
the OCC Web site at all unless you use your own username and
password.

HELP!
If you are not sure what e-mail address the Club holds for you,
see "Members Details" on the Web Site logging in as username
<flying> password < fish> which will still give read only access
to the e-mail addresses known to the OCC.

If you have problems setting up your account, please e-mail the
secretary secretary@oceancruisingclub.org telling him your
preferred username and a password. He will set up your account
and respond by e-mail when he has done so. You may change
username and password when by clicking on "My Details" when you
