Most filter wrenches I've seen/owned are a pretty light-weight, especially the ones that open up, which you'll need, but you could give it a try if you're willing to possibly destroy it. 
A proper chain wrench, though, will stand up to the substantial torque you'll need to apply if the bow thruster tube is really stuck inside the motor collar.  Afterwards you can use it in the galley for stuck peanut butter jar lids :-)
