I have no opinion on the company, but I have cruised with both wind and solar. There can be other considerations, but one thing I can say for sure based on my experience:
$1000 worth of solar panel will, in any week, generate much more power than the same dollars invested in wind generators.
The only exception was on an upwind passage, and who wants to do that for a week!
The guideline I learned, that worked in practice, was that the number of Amp-hours a solar installation will make at 24 volts is equal to 12% to 15% of its Wattage rating if installed horizontally. So a 100 W panel will supply 12 to 15 Amp-hours per sunny day into a 24 volt battery. You can get a good deal more if you track the sun.
