Hi Steve.  If there is a light on the panel that indicates when the BT is fully up or down, there is a sensor sending that signal.  On Kristy these sensors are integral to the worm drive.  It's a PITA to get it out, but undoubtedly that's where your problem lies.  It sounds to me like it could be both mechanical and electrical.

The older bow thrusters like the one on my hull #72 do not have any sensors. I suspect it is something mechanical, but not sure what. I'm sure someone out there must have experienced this problem, and can shed some light on it.
