Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Telemecanique LA 8 DN 11
Hi Eric,
Thank you for taking the time to reply
I also have the timer attached and wired to the contactor. This component is also attached to the side of the contactor (switch). I am trying to figure out what this attachment drives. It has small gauge blue and brown wire. The wire runs into a conduit and I can’t find where it goes or what it is connect to.

Mark, My transfer switch seems different than the one you have pictured. There is a relay to activate the solenoid that switches the power from the shore power to the genset when the genset is activated. The only item that seems strange in mine is a small white component with a knob on it. The knob is an electronic timer that can be set to the number of seconds that you want the system to wait till the solenoid is activated by the genset.
There is the same component in my Climma A/C units. They are set to different delays so that each A/C unit start time is offset by 10 or 15 seconds so they all do not go on at once. Fair Winds Eric Kimberlite Amel Super Maramu #376

Inside the engine compartment on the back side of the generator is a box containing a contactor switch. This is the automatic mechanical switch that selects between the generator and shore power. Inside the box, mounted to the side of the contactor is another switch or auxiliary contact. It is marked Telemecanique LA 8 DN 11. Does anyone know the purpose of this or what this is used for?
