Yes, I forgot to write just that, as long as you leave, you can come back and are given another month. Not worth 5% !!! I should have written for information, for non-BVI flag, after 1 month, you have to pay a temporary import permit which is valid for 1 year, I paid around $200 for it. I guess we will have to hop back to USVI after a short stent in the BVI. We have a pending inquiry into HM Customs about this very thing. Being influenced by the Brits, it will probably take them year, or two, to get to the email. Not sure that any port of call is worth a 5% levee on the boat. This is what the customs told me in Tortola. I was BVI registered and arrived in Tortola Oct 31st, I had 1 month "free stay" if exceeding, would have to pay 5% import tax (not 10% as I wrote). My plan was to change to a St Martin (french) flag anyway. Do you have a source for more information? With best regards, Mark Skipper Sailing Vessel - Cream Puff www.creampuff.us
