Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Outhal motor does not work

Hi Paul,

Is your outhaul line very tight?

Do you feel the motor running and the outhaul not turning?

I would disconnect the outhaul line from the Anderson outhaul winch and see if it turns.

That would be my first step.

It could mean your motor needs brushes, the motor is bad, or the bronze gear in the outhaul

gearbox is damaged.

Those are my first guesses.

Subject: [Amel Yacht Owners] Outhal motor does not work

I have noticed lately that our outhal motor have to work more when pulling out the main sail. But today it refuse to pull at all. Measuring the voltage when the selenoid is "on" gives only 22 volt, but when selenoid for the Main furler is on We meassure + 26 volt (motoring) assume they have the same wire for the current so guess the problem is the motor itself. Anyone have an idea how to approach the problem.
