The Santorin has a shorter halliard running through a block just below the mizzen spreaders. The attachment flange is part of the mizzen mast. I suspect this may have been to raise/support the passarelle, but also to be used with the boom end open blocks for lifting the dingy and engine from the lazarette.
I take a turn of the topping lift round the unused boom end block to shorten the topping lift to give extra clearance when lifting the outboard over the top of the rail. I still have to swing the foot of the outboard up a little to clear the rail, but it works easily.
