Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re-rigging and mast step

Dear Mike, We just had the standing rigging replaced by Amels rigger Gaetan in Martinique. Their chief rigger has been doing Amels for over 25 years. They have all the genuine parts to replace the standing rigging In stock. They are quite busy so an appointment is necessary.
They replaced my rigging in 2 ½ days. Their workmanship is amazing , they even hand polished the chain plates before attaching the rigging. While you are doing the rigging it would be a good idea to have Amel rebuild the genoa furler as it has to come off to re rig. Jean COLLIN had this done in the Amel shop there in one day. Kimberlite is 15 years old with about 78,000 miles on her, it was time. Fair Winds Eric Kimberlite Amel Super Maramu #376

We are considering redoing the standing rigging that hasn’t been touched in 18 years. Would it make sense to step the mast, do detailed inspection, replace parts/wires/messengers, etc. while the rigging is being replaced? Always a pleasure to get opinions from this group.
