The 12V engine alternator is supposed to be isolated from the engine. I could only find a replacement for that alternator that is not fitted with nylon pieces to provide that isolation and I'm struggling to find a temporary solution to achieve the isolation.
1. What is the purpose of that isolation ? I suppose it is to protect the engine from corrosion?
2. What are the risks to temporarily mount the alternator without isolation ?
