On my Amel 54 #14, it was G7. Not sure if all Amel 54 were so equipped but on my boat, also our demonstrator for North America, all the “ included at base price outfitting “ was to be representative of what the prospective client would receive on a new order. So, probably all the standard (not extra cost optional stainless steel chain) chain was G7.

This is a question for Bill mostly but anyones opinion welcome:

I want to replace the original 10mm chain provided by Amel. I do not know if it is Grade 4 or 7. Maud does not know, but the original chain was made by Chaineries Limousines in France. They make both grades. Does anyone know what grade was supplied? Or what are the general views on what I should buy. The breaking strain on Grade 4 or Grade 40 as it is also known is about 5.3 metric tons whilst the Grade 70 would be near double that.
