Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Forum decorum

Craig Briggs

Hi Bill,

Actually I have nothing but the utmost respect for your extensive experiential knowledge.
I certainly don't speak for the group owner - don't even know who it is.
I did think you might take the hint from the other Bill last week about commercial usage.
I used to get forum email on ssb and I've got a small phone screen, but not a biggie.
Btw, do you have a non-business email to which to send a pm?

Cheers, Craig SN68

I know that you do not like me, probably because I am an opinionated old-fart. And, I did not realize that you spoke for the owner of the group, or all members of this group. Had I known that I would have copied you in my direct emails to the owner of this group.

The next time that you chose to scold me publicly, I would appreciate it if you take that private instead. You can email me direct at bill"at"

In the meantime, I will consider your suggestion, and, BTW, as one old fart to another, nobody I know uses SSB for social media or forum downloads.

Dear Bill,

While we all love you, really appreciate your contributions and are so glad you didn’t “go dark” after selling your SM "Bebe", I’ve gotta say that 90 word salutation of yours is a bit over the top. It smacks of commercialism with the link to your business and the legalistic “don’t-sue-me” disclaimer, it sucks up bandwith for SSB downloads, overflows cell phone displays, and, while we’re all proud of our volunteer activities and honors, most don’t feel a need to broadcast them with rank, honorary title and all.

How about a modest,

“Bill Rouse, X-Bebe, SMxxx”

instead of,
