Trident Marine makes adapters that go from US to European fittings and the other way around. They're available through Defender. I don't know if that would get your US tank filled, but if you had to buy a European tank you could use one of these adapters to connect it to your boat.

We have EU fibreglass bottles. No problem getting gas anywhere except NZ...
We also have a « adapter kit » to connect our tanks to any fitting.

Porter, et al,
Judy and I filled our US bottles each time we attempted to, around the world. It seems there is always a "guy." I know some EU boat with GAZ bottles that could not say the same.

Mark. We have not had an issue refilling with our US fiberglass bottles in Nuku Hiva or Tahiti, or Galapagos for that matter. We have both French fittings and US fittings to the gas line but haven’t used the French fitting since Martinique. Haven’t even seen a French bottle out there.
We’re a little low on the grill bottle so will try to have that filled either here in Raiatea or Bora Bora. I’ll let you know.
Several buddies got conversion kits. But haven’t used them.
Hope this helps.
