The first Amel 54 (until which number ?) had the same motor on the genua and Trinquette, in later models the motor of the genua was bigger MEJ 2.0 . So the problem is the boxcontrol unit - it should break down the fuse by overload. If not adjusted in the right way you have a broken belt.
With new sailors on board I always have the fuse shutting off because of too much load on the sheet while furling.
Amel is not only push bottom - respect the sea and wind. Don't change too early to new equipment.
