Re: Sail Plan - Super Maramu
Teun
If I may jump in, attached are pictures of the "old" switches, the ones that must be replaced.
The new ones are bigger (see Bill's pic). They need a 43 mm diameter hole. Maybe you can check the diameter of yours from below.
Also, Amel keeps track of the boats that have already been updated. So Bill's advice to call them is right and on the safe side.
The letter informing about the recall is from 2011, so maybe all A54 are eligible. By that time, the replacement set was probably Lewmar, as far as I know. But according to Maud, Amel no longer have a partnership with Lewmar. So it is Harken now.
Maybe this will help:

Is there a way to tell the difference between the original/recall switch and the new/replacement switch?
I understand from other A54 owners that AMEL sent the replacement switches and the owners would arrange the replacement locally (and believe also paid for the cost to reinstall).
I have several of these switches on board but cannot tell whether they are new/replacement or the “recall/replaced” switches which I should get off the boat. I don’t like keeping “non-functional” parts on the boat but previous owner had a different approach. For me it works or doesn’t work and if I want to “recycle/repair” I better do it promptly and not “down the road”.
