Hi Billy. If the white ‘smoke’ quickly dissipates, it is most likely caused by water getting into the combustion process. If it hangs in the air and leaves a sheen on the water, it is most likely from a petroleum source. I have seen the water caused type come from a blown head gasket. The petroleum caused type usually comes from lubrication oil or a failing injector but I have seen the odd case of the transmission cooler failing and putting transmission fluid into the raw water that eventually gets injected into the exhaust elbow and makes a weird wispy type of smoke.
