I agree. If you're in mud or sand and in a place where you know the depth is going to be fairly level, you can move a bit faster. But, in this case you don't an FLS to scare you... Just look at the depth meter. I took out my FLS transducer by hitting a log about 5 miles off the coast of Columbia close to Magdalena River. What a bummer.
But, I love my Echo Pilot, especially I'm in badly charted shallow waters with hard stuff around.
