Bruno,

   My Maramu has the Nirvana mast.  Main lowers and inermediates are 8mm, caps are 10 mm.  I was told by a reliable source that a Maramu has yet to lose a mast if that information needs to be updated feel free to let me know.  Personally I would not alter the design.  Not only will you add weight aloft, you will be drilling out fittings on the mast for larger pins and could thereby have a weaker rig with the heavier wire.  

   Especially if you have the fiberglass mast box, go easy on the mizzen rigging tension.  I have seen quite a few of these mast boxes damaged from excessive compression loads.

What is the wire size on other Maramus? Did they maybe change wire size with the mast in 1985?
