Hi

When I was replacing the leds, I thought about making it red instead of blue. After all, red is better for keeping the night vision. 

Then, as always, I thought: why the Captain chose to do it this way (blue and not red).

Of course I can be wrong. My understanding is that red could be easily mistaken for a Port Navigation Light. And that kind of confusion could lead to an accident. Or cursing, at least :)

I kept it blue

one of the red/white combo lights is on our SM, not sure how long has been there, but works great.  Previous owner Sr. Moreno decked out nearly the entire yacht in LED and all works great.

The internal wiring and connections are  perished, a pile of rust where some screws were. I suppose they could be fixed somehow if they are not available anywhere but ideally I need to replace them with the same or something compatible.

Could you inform what is the problem with them? 
 
Switch or leds you can easily replace.
