Re: [Amel] Loosing oil from Furler Genua

Hello Casper and Maud,
Sorry to hear about your furler problem. We have not had any leaking from Genua furler and I do not believe that leaking is normal; seems a seal has failed. On our SM 72 there is not a grease fitting. When we replaced our main furler motor, we used a silicone based grease on the gearing and expect that is good for all the gearing systems except for the windlass which uses oil. How has your trip been going?

Subject: [Amel] Loosing oil from Furler Genua

Dear all,

I am loosing oil (greece) from the bottom of the electric furler of the Genua.

Is this a normal thing?

I see there is a nipple on top where I could refill. Does someone know if that is the solution and if so what should I put in there?

Kindest Regards

Caspar
