Do you think this was the result of the stove rocking back and forth while ungimbaled and underway?  Do you lock it when not in use?
 
This is a scary issue.  I'm going to pull my stove out before I go anywhere again to make sure I don't have the same issue.  Didn't see anything last time I pulled it out to clean, but didn't feel it either...close quarters back there.  I scratched the cabinet door pulling it out....damn.  Does anyone know what the finish that Amel used was?  It is incredibly tough and I'd like to refinish that door with the same thing.
