After sending my Icom model 802 back and forth to Icom we finally received it back with it working 100 percent at the factory.
When installed it still did not work, so we changed the antenna lead GTO-15 wire, still NG. Finally I fiddled with the wires of the control cable at the tuner and fount that the 18-20 gauge red wire pin had disintegrated inside the connector. A 4 dollar connector at radio shack and all is now 100 percent.
You might want to check that connector.
Mine was installed with three different types of tapes and liquid insulation and it still corroded.
