I’ll get some posted up in a few hours. I think that our bow thrusters are likely the same.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] AMFA A88B fresh water pump
Bill & Judy Rouse <yahoogroups@...>
Duane, Check for these issues: Suction leak on the supply side. There was a fiber washer where the copper tube was secured to the pump. It is likely damaged or now missing. You may have difficulty finding a fiber washer, you can use rubber or silicone. Two hose clamps? If you removed the one-way valve, it can be reinstalled backwards. Maybe the one-way valve has either a fiber washer stuck inside or some other trash. Let me know if I BINGO'd. Best, Bill BeBe 387

Good day to all. There is someone who has the SAME tow-thruster that works well? It would be useful for me to see a picture with activator and plunger switch well aligned, before making changes to my BT.

I assume you have water in your fresh water tank onboard. Could there be an "air leak" when you reassemble? I have installed "pre" (sediment) and "post" (chlorine) filters on my AMFA and had to purge for air, but that is not related to your issue... Thanks again Danny. Only one eye affected. I guess I've got about a 1 in 200 chance of having a problem with the other eye, but can't stop living. Like Jimmy Buffet, I'd rather die while I living than live while I'm dead. I'm adapting quickly to monocular vision...just don't throw anything to me yet.
Some one said that my other senses should be heightened after losing one. Hmmm, I've never had a good nose, my hearing sucks, and now only one eye. Guess I'll have to rely on my senses off touch and taste to evaluate prospective female first mates.
Happy sailing to all!

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Panama
Kent

AMFA A88B fresh water pump
Duane Siegfri
I dismounted the pump to replace the accumulater tank. After reassembly, it runs but doesn't pump water. Is the pump self-priming, or do I need to do something else? Thanks, Duane Wanderer, SM#477

Danny and Yvonne SIMMS
Hi Kent, good to hear from you. I remember shelter bay marina well. Very hot. It was where a big man with a big wheel puller and a big hammer broke the case on my out haul gearbox. Sorry to hear your eye surgery failed to help. It is one eye affected? All the best for your voyaging Danny

Sent: Wednesday, 26 October 2016 1:18 AM Subject: [Amel Yacht Owners] Panama Thanks, Danny, from Shelter Bay Marina on the Caribbean side of the Panama Canal. I got back to the boat in Curaçao a few weeks ago. After working on my boat list and waiting for Hurricane Matthew to clear, I went to Aruba for a few days and then to the San Blas islands, Panama. The immigration office on Isla Porvenir has closed, so sailed to Portobelo, then had to go to Colon to get cruising permit and Marinero Visa. The Panama immigration service is in a messy transition period now as they try to consolidate services, to eventually make it easier for cruisers. For now you should just check in at Colon on the Caribbean side. I'm not sure about the Pacific side. I'll spend the next two months in Kuna Yala and Bocas Del Toro, then fly home for Christmas. My eye problem never did get better. I gave up after 5 surgeries and 2 months of lying on my back or face. It is slowly going totally black, but that means the glare, double vision, and distortion is almost gone now. I'm not needing the patch except in bright sunlight now, but might wear it on occasion when I think it might be to my advantage ;-)> All the best. Steady as she goes. Kent Robertson S/V Kristy, SM243

Re: 2002 SM2K for sale, EU-VAT paid, 215.000 EUR
niels.hauerslev@...
Hi Bill, yes it is my SM2K.
We are selling due to a private situation in the family. Our AMEL is a great vessel, for the price. We have replaced (not yet installed - to be delivered next month) all interior upholstery (including the foam), for bright cream alcantara. Mechanically she is ready to go "Mediterranean or Caribbean sailing", and with some additional maintenance she would be ready for a circumnavigation. She just sailed on her own keel back from Martinique in 2015. The low price reflects that she has "above average" engine hours 5150 (compression is good, no smoking, new turbo and injectors last year). I believe another 5000 hours lifespan is be possible, with normal care and periodic maintenance, impeller, filters, oil changes etc. She has spent a lot of hours running with the diesel engine, during the 4x Atlantic crossings she has seen, which I hear is a kind and good life for a diesel. But it sure adds up the hours :) Also the rigging is 14 years old, and even if she did not put many miles on the canvas, I would expect to replace the forestay as a precaution, and possibly replace the full rigging if going for a full circumnavigation. The boat has been lived aboard by 2 people for 6 months at a time, in the Caribbean, since she was new, hence I found the need to replace all upholstery, as it was quite worn when we got her. With all new upholstery, I think the interior is very nice and well maintained, varnish, woodwork etc is looking great. If contacting me directly, there is a saving of 5.000 EUR on the brokers fee. I am happy to answer all questions, and also I invite anyone interested to come see her here in Denmark - she is located 40 minutes from Copenhagen International Airport. For a new owner, I would be happy to help sail the boat to a destination abroad. I hope not to have offended the group, by posting the link to DeValk on this forum. If so, please accept my apologies. 25 knots and sunshine to all current and future AMEL owners. Niels

Same problem and still code 13. That stumped even the Onan factory. The genset was also putting out 53 volts.
Having knowledge of the isolated ground on my Yanmar after completely rewiring the engine, I decided the problem was with the isolated ground and the PCB board was not properly connected to the dc negative from the battery and getting confused as to what to do.
I started at the battery cable and cleaned all of the connections and tested the generator as I cleaned and used corrosion x and tightened the connection.. Finally there was only one connection- the braided ground strap that went to the PCB board. I removed the screw holding it on to the board, cleaned paint off of the board where the ground strap connects to the board and noticed that the screw which held the strap in place was slightly corroded. I cleaned it up added corrosion x and PROBLEM SOLVED.
