No worry about making a ladder in Greece! Mine is only interesting for people that are in the Caribbean! Definitely agree with you on the choice of aluminum! I know about the 2 length available 2.9 or like mine 3.1 meter, but I did not know about the width! Mine is 40 cm, I wonder if all 3.1 meter are 40 cm! Also thanks for letting me know the price! Enjoy your trip!!! Let me know if you come this side of the Atlantic, would love to meet you! Sincerely, Alexandre --------------------------------------------

I have seen some SM with stainless steel replacement ladders, which are cheaper to make but 3 times heavier, so I am sure other SM owners would be interested in a lightweight original. Also note, I discovered that there are 2 different widths; older SM like mine are 35cm wide, while newer ones are wider (40cm maybe)? By the way, it costs 1050 euro plus VAT including anodising. Amel owner saying goodbye
rcavie <no_reply@...>
Dear friends AMEL owners Probably this will be the last email that I send and I will withdraw from the group. The reason is that Hurricane Irma destroyed my Amel SM2k and it will be impossible for me to recover it. The insurance will only pay a fraction of what it would cost me to buy an equal one. Deductibles and other reasons. This situation not only destroyed my ship but my dreams. My dreams of living on board with my wife, my dreams of crossing the Atlantic to the East, my dreams of sailing the Mediterranean and perhaps other seas and finally returning to the beautiful South of Chile. In this group I gained friends and knowledge and for that, I thank each and every one of you, especially Eric and Alexandre who from the beginning helped me with their advice. If you sail to Chile you will have a friend here. Greetings to all Fair winds Rafael SM2k 246

Re: An update on our Firefly Batteries.

Since people asked for an update on our experience with our Firefly batteries, here is a link to what we have seen so far:
In summary, they are behaving pretty much as expected. The key question about their ability to resist significant sulfation when held partial charged for long periods will not be known until I have a feel for their lifespan. Hopefully, that will take a long time to answer! Bill Kinney SM160, Harmonie Freeport, Bahamas

Eric,
The plugs have the following dimensions: Big OD 17 mm, Small OD 13 mm, Length 25 mm Cut it to 6 or 6.5 mm length.. I thoroughly cleaned the cavities, applied grease on the screw head, and then plugged it. It works good.
I don't have PN now. I will try to get PN when I have good WiFi connection. I am in D'Arlet, Martinique now.

One thing to add re installing you RO system. My low pressure feed pump is a Johnson Pumps CM30P7. The pump is almost totally silent, but does need to be mounted below the waterline. It feeds the HP pump for my system that makes 35 gl/hr. It’s located
in the engine room and has suffered no problems due to the heat, and has been in service for 5-6 years. I use the same model Johnson pump to feed the cooling circuit for our refrigeration, and it’s also in the engine room, and that pump has been in service
for 16 years (knock on wood)! So that’s an option to consider.
