SM dodger window mechanical drawings
Ryan Meador
Hi all, I removed my dodger windows for replacement, then promptly dropped the big starboard window into the ocean. It turns out it sinks, but slowly enough to be carried away by the current! Does anyone have mechanical drawings or even a good photo of this window (removed from the boat)? I think it had a bit of a notch on the top that is more complicated than just the cutout in the dodger. I'm going to cut a foam template for the replacement, but I want to make sure I get it right. Thanks, Ryan

Hi Mohammad, The battery is an Effekta BTL 12-120s AGM 120 AH the size is 330*172*227 with 33 kg per battery is the same as the original battery installed by Amel but with 10AH more per battery The only job to do is to drill new holes in the copper plates and cut the copper plate to adapt the size cost around 220 euros per battery Marcel

Great news Teun, Bill is probably the most practical experienced Amel sailor around, no apologies. I met Kaj and Amelit in Tahiti in 2014 and we both sailed separately to Fiji and then on to New Caledonia, and New Zealand, meeting up at odd places on the way. We are in New Zealand planning to head to Fiji in May. What are your plans? Cheers Alan Elyse SM437

Bearings removal & refitting tips.
In the "many ways to skin a cat" department, try heating the bearing and putting the shaft in the freezer for refitting.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Mystery line
Bill & Judy Rouse <yahoogroups@...>
Den, In your original email you said, "There is one piece of rope that I can't find a use for. Can anyone shed some light on it?" You included no further explanation, or photo. I know every line that came with your boat, but I cannot extend my vision from where I am to your boat.😀 Send me a photo of the line to Bill"at"AmelSchool.com and I will return the email with not only what I believe your line is, but a complete list of all lines for the 54.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Reya water pump UK dealer
HI Paul, Just before Christmas my water pumped stopped and I needed to put 2 new brushes in. I had these on the boat. As I wanted to replace my spares I searched and could only find them for sale on Bay from a seller in HK. I ordered 10 as they only sold in quantity of 10. I have these now and I am on my way back to my boat in Sicily. I would be happy to send you a few if that would help or you can look on Ebay for " 10 x carbon Brush for Generic Electric Motor size 6.5 x 11.5 x 25mm". I have 5 packs with 2 in each pack, I will never be able to use them but as I said I had to buy 10. Price was a whopping just under US$5 for 10 packs including postage. Let me know as I am leaving UK in 2 days, easier to post from UK than Sicily. Best Regards Barry and Penny Connor "Lady Penelope II' Amel 54. #17 Marina di Ragusa Sicily.

Mohammad Shirloo
Hello
Marcel;
Can
you please let me know the Effecta model number of the batteries you used.
We too need to change batteries this season. Did you have to make any
modifications to make the batteries work or were they a direct drop
in.
Respectfully;
Mohammad and Aty

Hi Den and Julie,
I found a battery in Germany at the same size with the original battery and with 120 AH instead of 110 , I installed the Effecta battery two years ago and I'm really satisfied My boat is at the moment in Preveza Greece , I have also solar panel 440w with a victron regulator Marcel Krauth Amel 54 Ganesha 173 On 03/03/2018 23:15, delborn@... Re: Mizzen balloner

Sounds like you're trying to fly it dead downwind. It is for sailing off the wind up to around 90 degrees off the beam. It works on my Santorin with the main and genny, but sometimes I ditch the mizzen if it gets back winded.
