My premium is $4100 USD, probably lower than yours because my boat is older. Chuck is your boat UK registered? TopSail told me their underwriters would not cover a US boat in the Caribbean. Eric, Eric, It's a long answer, and we all have learned more since my last response. If you want the short answer, it is yes, but.... Long Answer: The basic rule of thumb is 1 gallon per minute (GPM) is required for every 4,000 Btu’s of capacity. So, 9,000 * 3 = 27,000/4,000= 6.75gal/min * 3.785=25.55liters/min * 60 = 1,532 liters/hour OR, 6,75GPM * 60 = 405GPH. The March AC5-C-MD is rated at 1000 hal/hr (GPH), which is more than twice what it should be rated at. However, as you know, when all 3 ACs are running, the salon gets its required saltwater from the output of the aft AC, which has been heated because of heat transfer. And the fore AC gets its required saltwater from the output of the aft AC and the salon AC, which has been heated because of heat transfer. I really do not know how to take all of that "pre-heated" water into account. All of that said, the Calpeda pump is rated at 4.8 sq meters an hour or 1268GPH. So the
March AC5-C-MD pumps about 25% less water than the Calpeda, but substantially more than the rule of thumb requirement from above of 405GPH. Coastal Climate Control recommends the March TE 5.5C-MD-AC, which is rated at 1500 GPH, and 50/60hz. Mark on CREAM PUFF installed this pump and is satisfied with its performance. I think the safe thing to do is use The March TE 5.5C-MD-AC I hope this helps you and others with this decision. I just signed up with topsail for the year. $4400 with occ discount. Deductible is higher for damage under named storm other than that your standard fair. Best part is no storage requirements if your south of mid Grenada June thru November Chuck Joy SM 388

Yesterday I installed Two push buttons bought by ebay Germany and shipped by HERTH+BUSS Germany with the Part#70468080 . They are esactly corresponding to what Amel installed on a lot of Lofran with a modified Aluminum Motor Cover. Hi Thomas,
If I recall correctly, there are mating PL259 connectors at the base of the mast for all 4 antennas. You should be able to re-configure these to do the checks of the antennas and their feed cables. The connectors to the AIS unit and VHF Radio are both PL 259 at the chart table, and within easy swapping distance so it’s easy to switch those to test the full cable runs. Reduction gear geometry is such that you, indeed, can not turn the output shaft - that's what keeps the sail "locked" when you are partially furled, else it would just blow all the way out. (It's not the electric motor providing the "locking" - that will spin freely in either direction with no power applied.) Since you'll have to remove the motor to take it to a shop anyway, I'd suggest you go ahead and remove it and the reduction gear, checking it out as I described, plus, after you separate the motor, you can try turning the reduction gear manually by the input shaft to make sure it is not the problem. You really can't break anything - it's all pretty robust. Hi Chuck, Eric has answered your question but since you've already got the motor removed from the mast you might try putting 24v to the wires from a different source, which could inform as to whether you've got an internal electrical failure (brushes, windings, dirty commutator) or a mechanical one (bearings, loose/cracked magnets). These are pretty easy to disassemble and you might find an easy fix. I assume 1.) when you say the solenoids look good that means you verified you do have 24v at the motor wires themselves (not just at the output of the solenoids) after you removed the motor and 2.) that "it does not turn by hand" means it's really frozen, ie., after removing the motor from the reduction gear you put a pliers on the output shaft of the motor and it won't budge at all, That certainly sounds like a mechanical issue such as a corroded bearing or broken magnet, which are simple fixes. Good luck with it - would be curious for you to post what the actual failure was after you fix it. I would try Electec, Budget marine or Island water world.. If you need a machine shop FKG is the place to go. However Electec specializes in electrical things.

Having redone headliners before, my favorite product was the upholstery fabric "NaugaSoft" It comes is a variety of colors, it very tough and robust, it has a nice "hand," it stretches a bit so it is easy to work around turns and compound curves, and, while it is not cheap, it is not insanely expensive either.

Craig I guess all boats manufactured at this time not only Amels have problems with the vinyl. On the back the vinyl has a thin foam which goes to dust after the years and the vinyl does not attach any more. The previous owner of my Sharki has therefore installed everywhere wood strips to attach the vinyl again, see pics. It is better however to make all new which is of course plenty of work.
