Thanks for the info.  I was there this afternoon.  We have a charger that is wet cell only, and Caraibe has only two wet cell types available in quantities of 12.  They have a Trojan 31XHS at 130AH (20hour test) for 360 Euros, and the Banner 100 AH at 225 Euros.  The Banner inspires no confidenceand  based on name recognition, they could not give me a model number, only the 100 AH.  I'm not even sure if that's the 20 hour test or the 100 hour test.

The Trojan is available in the US at half the price, but that doesn't really matter, just a reality reference. Maybe they're even cheaper on the moon.

I think we're going to get 8 of the Trojans, they equal 12 of the Banners in AH's at only a small premium, and they have a quality reputation that will make me sleep well at night.

Honestly Staten, just go look at the boats and decide what is important to you! Other people's opinions will be all over the place based on goals, preferences and budget. The SM is newer, bigger and has more amenities and storage... Both will take you safely around the world.  What are you looking for in a boat?

Hi,
 I have no qualms endorsing the PSS dripless shaft seal as I have had one on my Newport 41 for 10 yrs, with no problems at all.  I inspect it frequently and have seen no  actual wear and only slight stiffening in the bellows after 8 years prompting a replacement at our last haul out.  They re not terribly expensive so a more frequent replacement schedule is not too onerous.  Just my 2 cents.

Hello,

Just wanted to provide feedback on our order of the marco up2-p from the following website www.marco-pumps.com. (Mate-USA doesn't deliver outside USA/Canada).

Overall very pleased. Delivery is indeed 15USD/EUR worldwide, dispatch within 24h of order, and customer service available via whatsapp!!. (the maintenance kit was unavailable and required 2-3 extra days)
Our parcel arrived to Tahiti  - French polynesia - 5 working days after the order. Only reporting now as it then had to clear through customs and be forwarded further within french Polynesia etc.

Not yet installed, but a couple of observations :
- we were first surprised that the pump is significantly smaller than the jabsco one, fits in your hand.
- we had to get different connectors to fit to existing hoses. The diagram on the pump documentation doesn't show the thread one side of the connector, and the 1/2" barb connection doesn't fit the existing setup.

We will provide further feedback once installed and running.

I delivered a catamaran from Le Marin Caraibes Marine to Ft Lauderdale in 2016.  

the boat was OK but needed lots of details, stove, fuel jugs, a battery, hoses, light bulbs, oil and fuel filters. etc.
I loaded up with the fantastic food available in Martinique - French imports at low prices. 
I repaired, jury-rigged, secured the boat as much as I could at the marina, then sailed to St Martin where I purchased everything needed easily, and far cheaper.  It was possibly risky but the weather and conditions were all in my favor.  

I love Martinique.  Le Marin is a fantastique place to see lots of Amels

There were no good options for purchasing batteries in Le Marin, Martinique when I purchased my boat back in June 2017.  Things may have changed since then and others might have some more current advice for you but I paid roughly double the price for no-name starter battery in Martinique than I would have paid for a name brand starter battery in the USA.  Let us know what you find!

I found the spare and from which I could figure out the wiring. I just couldn't see the markings on the installed relay on the engine to figure it out.
