Re: air conditioning maramu
Hey Guys!
I bought Eric Lindholms Maramu back in 2012. Since then i’ve upgraded the HVAC to a new 2018 Marine Air EnviroComfort Air Conditioning with Reverse Cycle Heat Retrofit Kit from Defender. This unit pushes more air and is also quieter! Cheers, Jer -- Jeremy Hermanns - "Jer" SVCerulean.com Maramu #105 Marina Del Rey, CA

I do not know about the length. A SM with a D160 with membranes in the ceiling needs about 6' for each. Remember one hose is connected at the back of the control panel. The rest looks good to me, just questioning length. Bill

The 54 has the socket, the SM does not have the socket unless the option was purchased.

FW: Replacement HP hoses for Dessalator - UPDATE
I am wondering if someone who has ordered or understands HP hoses for the water maker would be kind enough to take a quick peek at this (before I push the buy button) and make sure this is correct:
HT-06-ASB | 3/8" HYDRAULAX TOUGH™ Hydraulic Hose Assembly Code: HT-06-ASB Fitting #1: SS-FJX-06-06 | (Stainless)3/8" JIC 37° Flare Female Swivel (SS-FJX-06-06) Fitting #2: SS-FJX-06-06 | (Stainless)3/8" JIC 37° Flare Female Swivel (SS-FJX-06-06) Overall Length: 3 feet 0 inches
These are about US$85 per 3’ hose assembled.

Mark

A call out to USA owners,
I have a box of supplies being assembled in the USA for shipment to Tahiti. I would like to include replacement HP hoses for the Amel installed D60 Dessalator. I am unsure of the exact specs for the fittings although I have searched the forum and think it is stainless steel 3/8 inch JIC fittings on all ends. The stuff I am unsure about is if the hose has to be “food grade” and the pressure rating.
Does anyone have a company from whom I can order on-line or better still provide me with a part number and e-tailer?
I have an email out to balcen.com (the USA Dessalator dealer) – I expect they supply it but am assuming it will be expensive and other options might prove more thifty.
With best regards,
Mark

Re: wiring schematic
Hi Ulrich & Randall,
Our Amel does not have the dive compressor. However the 230 Volt plus is still installed in the port lazarette. It's one of those blue, big ones like for shore power plugs. I'm a bit surprised by the inflator plug as present in the schematic diagram. Our Amel 54 does not have a 24 Volt socket in the rear lazarette but it does have a 230 Volt socket in this lazarette. It also came with an inflator pump running on 230 Volt. So it could be that Amel changed the voltage for the inflator at some point. Regards, Arno Luijte SV Luna, A54-121

Nick, It's a long shot, but if you know somebody in Gibraltar, I would give it to you. As I have a new microwave and have no use for the rack I have. Hope you know someone here. Let me know. Cheers, Randall

“food grade” is a misnomer here. The high pressure hoses are always carrying seawater, only filtered through a sediment filter. It’s not drinkable water. The product water comes from the other side of the membrane, under much lower pressure. That lower pressure hose should be suitable to move drinkable water. The key is to use stainless fittings on the high pressure hose ends to keep them from corroding. ~~~⛵️~~~Matt

as soon as possible I will dive deeply in my cockpit locker and have a look. An Amel is obviously always a wonderful boat with plenty of secrets. This explanation about a very professional and precise installation from Alex is such impressive. Could not be better! Mark, all the Best! stay safe and well. Ulrich,
If your boat had it installed, the socket for the dive compressor would be in the upper aft of the cockpit locker. Alex from Nikimat has some good photos here: https://nikimat.com/scuba_compressor_bauer_junior.html -- Mark McGovern SM #440 Cara Deale, MD USA

Hi All,

regarding Randall´s question…I´m curious too about the socket for the dive compressor. on my 220 V panel a breaker is already installed, but obviously I can´t find the socket accordingly. Where should it be? So far, I know about the socket for the dinghy inflator pump (nearby to the SSB antenna tuner) in the stb lazarette, but the dedicated socket for an dive compressor? Curious too, thanks for advise very appreciated. Best Regards and stay well! Ulrich „Soleil Bleu“ /A54#088 <>
