Hi Eric,

Let me re-post a few more pictures here.
Cost is $25. This is now SS316 therefore a bit pricier than the original Alu version that I had made back in April.

I plan to place a volume order this coming week.
If you or anyone else would like to order some, there is still time, email me offline at "blouin_dion@..." ASAP and we can work out the personal details.
Right now, I'm talking to several people offline who have requested parts.

Thanks,

Jeroen/Nicolas,

Where did you purchase your Sunpower panels?  What are the dimensions (assume 60 cell)?

I find the output of 3 standard 60-cell residential panels to be desirable.  However, I am concerned the stern of the boat may become a Nimitz Aircraft Carrier landing deck.  Have you experienced any issues?  Can you share pictures?

Many thanks to you both.

 Hi Matt
My panels where bought locally in Marseille south of France, there size is 1690mm x 1046mm.
The arch has been made to accommodate 3 off them.
Not quite Nimitz class but close

Alex,

I don't know about Miami, but I have used Complete Yacht Services in Fort Lauderdale for many parts for Yanmar engines over the years.  A good business and they know the engines well. They also maintain a good stock.  Pretty much all the official dealers will be pretty close on price.

completeyachtservice.net

For those of us with Volvo TMD22 engines, these guys are a Perkins dealer as well, and most parts for the Volvo are identical with Perkins at a significant cost savings.

Re: Navigation Chair A54

Arno Luijten

Hi Jeroen,

We replaced it with a Bar Stool very similar to the one in the picture. That is; the upper part of  the stool. We discarded the (flimsy) gas-lift undercarriage and used the seat part only.
I had to modify the existing mounting plate of the original nav chair to suit the shape of the set by setting the left and right edges at a slight angle to be parallel with the bottom of the seat at the point where the bolts go trough. I also put two wooden slats in between to bridge the gap between the steel edges and the seat bottom.

we recently installed 3x400wp Sunpower panels on a ss frame on top of the davits, with 3 x victron mppt 100/30 controllers. great improvement. at noon the batteries are 100% we only need the gen.for waterheater and washingmachine.

Hallo Arno. please can you let me know wich type if chair you replaced the broken charttable seat ? our is beyond repair as well.

Re: B and G 213 MHU windset PCB or replacement.

Dear Walter. great. if your 213 is available with working P CB this would be my quickest and best solution. i am in Amsterdan untill the 27th of Aug.
Can you despatch ?  my mailadres is fidelis@...

Re: B and G 213 MHU windset PCB or replacement.

B&G: The WS 310 has "direct NMEA 0183 output or connection via an interface to a NMEA 2000network," so maybe it is compatible with what you have.

If you are not certain it is the PCB, a failed 213MHU Mount can give some of the same symptoms as a failed PCB. And, of course, there is the speed sensor and the wind direction sensor failures...both of these are very easy to install.

If you find the 213 MHU Mount has failed, the process for replacement is:
  1. Find the B&G 213MHU junction box near the base of the mast inside the boat and behind a Velcro'd panel, then remove the mast side of the wiring from the junction
  2. Remove any wire ties and pull the wire with a pull cord attached to the end through the inspection port at the base of the mast.
  3. Secure a strong pull cord to the wire, possibly sewing it to the wire. You do not want this separating halfway up the mast.
  4. From the top of the mast, remove the B&G 213MHU, then remove the 4 bolts (5mm, I think) from the 213 MHU Mount
  5. From the top of the mast, pull the wire with the pull cord attached
  6. Secure the pull cord to the new 213MHU Mount wire, possibly sewing it to the wire
  7. From the inspection port at the base, pull the cord with the wire attached while the person at the top of the mast guides the wire.
  8. Using the pull cord from step 2 above, pull the wire to the junction box
The B&G WS310 is available wired or unwired as a WS320. It is digital where the 213MHU is analog. You did not say which B&G system you have. The WS310/320 is not compatible with all B&G systems, so you need to check your system for compatibility. The WS310/320 will not bolt to the same holes that are drilled and tapped for the 213MHU Mount.

There is one other option you may have. A+T Electronics in the UK can likely repair or replace your 213MHU. Their website (snippet below) shows that they have parts available including the PCB. Send an email to Sarah Covey <sarah@...>. Be sure to tell her that I referred you.

Can model 213 easily replaced by model WS310 ( with cable , can i use the old cable ?) or the wireless model WS320 ?.

I do not want to take the mast down for this job, so i will have to do the replacement at 22m height. ( a job i am not looking forward to. )

A54-172. well, I also got my B&G crazy. it shows crazy numbers for depth, total log ("-009740" miles) and average speed ("274 knots"). Reset doesn't help.

Nah,

Amateur class. You should go for the new Mercury V12 600HP. 2400 HP should get Kimberlite moving nicely for at least 30 minutes before you run out of fuel...
