Maramu main furler gear box
Alex BAIZEAU
Hello, everyone! I’m trying to disassemble the main furler gearbox/manual furler. I managed to take it of the mast and open the top cover, but I’m stuck getting the shaft out, it seems like the manual furling assembly is preventing me from pulling it out. If anyone has any tips that would be much appreciated Cheers Alex. Maramu 1986

Bosch washing machine for Amel 54
Hi all,
Did anyone replaced the Bosch washing Machine (WLX24460FF) Amel installed originally on the A54 with the Bosch WLT24440 (series6 - 6.5kg) ? Dear Arno, you have mentioned this Bosch machine two years ago as a possible replacement. Did you installed this Model on Luna? The depth measure is 44.6 cm, slightly bigger than the original Bosch, and yes the model is still available in Europe.
Thanks for any reply SY WASABI A54 #55

You will have fun finding a replacement. There are a few that you may be able to find with the same size.
I saw this at some point: Bosch WLT24440 and/or Siemens WS12K440/WS10K460/WS10K160/WS10K360 But I’m not sure if they are still available Bear in mind that Amel added some bolt-holes in the bottom to secure the machine. Apparently you can remove the washer as one unit. The dryer needs to be taken apart completely in situ as it is too big. The dryer was modified quite a bit by Amel. Basically they cut the lower back right corner off the machine and rerouted the exhaust through the bottom. The dryer can still be obtained in the UK last time I checked: White Knight C37AW 3 kg Dimensions (H) 67 x (W) 50 x (D) 47cm (same machine, different brand) White Knight C39AS 3.5 kg Dimensions: H67cm x W50cm x D47cm (bit more capacity because of reversing drum) In my case I ended up replacing the heater element of the dryer as it was broken and repainting parts of both machines. They work fine now.

Re: 220v breakers
Bill Kinney
Pat,
I have had three of these breakers go "bad" and start to trip will below their rated capacity, so it is certainly possible. Assuming there is no issue with the battery charger, it would be my next guess. No other breakers I have ever seen fit the two hole panel cutout for the diruptor breakers. Amel would be my first go to for help here, but if they can not help, the dirupter breakers are distributed into the marine market by Plastimo, and can be special ordered through Bainbridge in the USA. Bainbridge is wholesale only, so you'll need to work through one of their retailers, like West Marine. This works for some, but not probably all models of the breakers. Be prepared to be shocked at the price. Bill Kinney SM160, Harmonie Brunswick, GA, USA

Hello
Since yesterday when I tried to park in a box in a marina in Auckland my bow thruster motor failed.
If I turn the beam to the left or right the whole power supply breaks down for a moment. After that the power is back.
I took the rudder off and it can be turned perfectly by hand.
But the same happens with the engine. No power for a few seconds, all instruments off, no rotation of the motor.
Does anyone know this problem.
Does anyone know how I can find out if it's the motor or maybe a relay that doesn't work.
Can I test the motor without a relay, maybe on the 4 cables marked D1, D2, and A1, A2?
I am grateful for a quick answer. Heinz SY Quetzal, SM 2000, 292

HI Arno, Thanks for your information and advice. I share it. Better repairing the existing tumble drier than trying to squeeze a different model into this tight space. Will order spare parts and see how it goes. Hope your boat is back and safe now. Regards Bertrand

[Edited Message Follows] Having looked a bit further it seems the Eudora is same as the Minea and the White Knight. My advice is to order spare parts and repair the thing as putting in another dryer may not be a funny exercise.

The heating element you can find here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184845608284?hash=item2b09a8255c:g:0ncAAOSwa3lgpORj It is used but apparently White Knight does not manufacture them anymore Found this as well, new and same size: https://www.klarstein.fr/Electromenager/Lave-linge-et-seche-linge/Jet-Set-Seche-linge-Sechage-par-extraction-d-air-compact-3kg-1020W-Classe-C-Blanc-Blanc.html But I don't know if you can cut off corners without making the thing very unhappy... Pushed by some health issues, I have reluctantly decided to sell my SM 216, Ladybug. I watched this wonderful boat being built in 1998, and I have owned it ever since. Ladybug is in perfect condition and is ready to start around the world tomorrow. In November I sailed to Martinique where Ladybug will spend the winter. Re: A54 Tumble-drier
Hi Bertrand,
I hope you and your wife are doing well! Later Amels had the Minea drier supplied. This is a (French) private label version of the UK-made White Knight C37AW. You can still buy spare parts for that thing. The model was superseded by the C39AS that had a reversing drum. You may be able to find one of those as old stock , typically in the UK. Be aware that Amel did some brutal work to it by redirecting the outlet through the bottom and literately cutting off the bottom-rear-right corner of the casing to make it fit. Re: Main and outhaul motors and spare halyard
Hi All,
I posted information about this new motor a few years ago, along with the part numbers for the items below. It is slightly smaller in diameter, but it is a direct bolt on. The vinyl housing (was Plastimo, now unobtainium) is still used but you need a new adaptor ring to fit the smaller motor...get it from Amel. The brush arrangement is completely different. The old motor had two replaceable brushes. The new motor has 4 brushes mounted in a holder at the end of the motor, you replace the complete assembly - get it from Amel. Cheers Alan Elyse SM437
