Has anyone refitted with an ultrasonic wind sensor and what has been the experience?

Appreciate the help.

Hello,
I refitted with the LCJ / CV7 with Windyplug.
CV7-WINDYPLUG - NMEA2000 ultrasonic wind vane-anemometer (lcjcapteurs.com)
works great, recommend it. You can reuse 2 of the mounting holes. With a small piece of aluminium you can prepare the mounting before you climb the mast, so no drilling at the mast top ;-)

Hi Mike,

I do not have an ohm meter here.

Please check your parts manual.

It would not be cost effective to ship to NZ.

I Have 1 switch left now.

The five spares you have are all normally open or normally closed exhaust temperature switches?

I have broken this sensor reaching behind my MDKAV generator a few times.

A while ago I ordered some for the group.

I believe it is available for $70-=$90- US., from Onan.

I have a few leftover due to cancelled orders.

If you are interested . I have 5 left.

I can send them to you for $33- each plus USPS of about $8.00.

It is Onan part number 0309-0295-01.

Hi Kent,
You should still be able to see the pics at  https://photos.app.goo.gl/DMXzPz9SzpwEXZW19  Let me know if you can't see the pics .   Posting is here  https://amelyachtowners.groups.io/g/main/message/61304

A few clarifications and suggestions:  1)We did not need to remove that back panel, just the arch piece of  wood you see at the top of the wooden panel.  Ours comes off with a couple of screws.  If there are no wires there you can run wires from either side of the cabinet areas of the aft stateroom.  Because it is even with the top of the lazerette you could even run wires from the 24V receptacle in the lazerette without causing any problem and run them inside that wood trim piece.  The fan requires very little amperage and wire can be thin.  The addition of a fuse would be proper. 2) On our boat the fan is mounted on the wood that frames the hatch opening--other SM models might be different.  Hold the Scirocco to check to make sure that it can lock back out of the way as shown in the second photo before mounting.  It should just fit and usually requres that you rotate the gimballed frame to stow  3)Because it is below the hatch you want to be careful to prevent rain or splashes from following seas.  We have not had a failure due to this although I have given the motor a prophylactic shot of CorrosionX--do this when you won't be using the aft cabin for a while unless you cherish the aroma of CorrosionX. 4)We measured and you could place 2 of the Sciroccos side by side for even more ventilation--I haven't done that but it would be a nice option.  5) I don't ever think we have needed the fan to run all night, so the variable timer is really nice.  Let us know if you have any oher questions.

The hose can be made by any hydraulic shop. It is quite easy and inexpensive. Get one with a reinforced steel braid. On Kimberlite I just looked at the existing one and ordered a spare online it was quite easy. Unfortunately, I am not on board at the present time.

Hi Bob,
I want to mount a fan in our aft hatch like you did.  The link to pics has disappeared.  Can you repost them?

Also, haw hard was it to remove the aft panel to access the lighting 24v power?  Removing the side panels for revarnishing was very difficult, as there was a ton of silicone sealant between the panels and the cabin sides.  I won't go there again.

Thanks and Happy New Year.

Re: Super Maramu Passerelle Plans

Steven Bode - SV Intention 1994-SM#117

Hello, Dear Amelians! Happy New Years!

I've started working on creating CAD plans for the Super Maramu Passerelle in Solidworks with the intent of having a new passerelle made. I'm following up on this thread to see if anyone was able to get the plans from Amel. I emailed Maude and received a reply from msr. Thierry Billard stating simply that the passerelle is no longer available. I followed up that email with a request for any plans, drawings or jigs and have not received any response.

Do anyone in the group have the plans somewhere? Has anyone received any response from Amel? Is any one interested in getting a new Passerelle? I'm going to have one made.

It turned out not to be such a problem to get a new hose made up as I feared. I contacted a hydraulic shop in Nassau owned by a guy named Justin. I have lost about 150 liters per hr. production unless I crank up the pressure a bit more than I had to before. I cleaned the pre filter,by that did not help. No big deal at least I am making water at 1500/Liters happy with that.
Thank everyone for their advice, I should have investigated a source before posting.
