Re: [Amel] Danny-Staysail
Hi Alexandre,
If we go to weather in anything above 15 knots true, I use the staysail inside the shrouds. I don't partially furl the genoa going to windward, the shape is not good and the sheeting

Hi Bob, look forward to seeing you. The SSB cruiser nets are a great way to find out who is where in the pacific area. What is the name of the boat you will be on?

Hello Bob,
The autohelm linear drive fitted in my badly built 1986 Oyster 435 had those four plastic gears in the planetary drive. They had a life of about 15,000 miles and a replacement set cost £12

Thanks Danny and all who offered thoughts. Yes I did think the windvane a bit of a stretch, I was only considering it due to future short handed cruising plans. I guess I'll look into fitting a spare

Hi Alan. I remember the commotion this boat caused while it was being built.
As you know, it was done right and the engineering is to Amel standards so
you probably have not had any collateral

No problem Eric...but you'll have to wait a bit.
I'm in Australia and won't be back on the boat until July 4. Elyse is in Port Vila.
BUT, I'll take pictures of all the parts and post them

Hi Eric,
I just posted 2 pics in a new folder called Elyse.
Elyse has a furler on an inner forestay that was installed at the factory.
The deck fitting is through bolted to a massive 12mm thick

At the factory they called that the mizzen ballooner.
