Dear Giovanni,
We had similar situations with solenoid. Our cure is to regularly exercise the solenoid by depressing the 'black rubber' seal.

Hi don't know if this will help. Cleanse it with a good degreaser like brake cleaner then use a high temperature exhaust manifold paint and have at it. That stuff worked well on our race cars that got

While replacing the turbo on Libby (as noted lees than 2 hours on it) the exhaust elbow was removed, inspected and cleaned. Light Carbon deposits were removed with a dremel tool. It was in fair

I believe that my problem is that Ii motor a lot in very salty warm water.--that is also what yanmar said.

same here,
salt crystals.
i just welded a s/s jacket inside of he elbow using our welding laser and closed up the small pinholes with some platinum.
just about 50 dollars worth of platinum--

We had the same problem, and did the same thing. I was going to replace the elbow, but was amazed at the price. As I remember, it was around $600 or more from Yanmar.

Was the first clue that something was wrong a leak (I guess you'd see the raw water leaking and smell exhaust fumes), or was it a decrease in performance?
