Defender has AWAB 316 SS clamps at a better price than I could find Ideal. Still pricey but peace of mind.

Bad odours coming from the A/C
Our forward head started to smell after about 3 years. That is the one used
by my crew.
To see if the smell was coming from the hose it was recommended that I take
a hot wet rag and hold it around

I just spoke to a customer service rep at Ideal who says the 316 stainless is their most corrosion resistant product. Their 316 clamps have stainless band and screw...some have ferrous band and SS

Regarding your recommendation to buy Ideal clamps. The come in two grades of stainless; 410 and 300 both with 5/8” bands. Does it matter which grade?

Sorry for the bad grammar, there should have been a comma after ampage. What i meant was by the time you would wire the 6 volt batteries to give you 24 volts, you would neither

We also had the problem of smell from the bilge going to the heads through the bilge pipe. I fixed it by putting a down facing elbow where the bilge pipe enters he bilge sump, then a short

On the Amel and all previous boats the key to non smelling heads is as simple as long flushes. The flush must be long enough to remove the waste from the pipes and just leave water in

I agree with Alan, any odor from the head, be it from a user or from a permeated hose will be delivered directly to the aft cabin by the AC. I found out that wrapping aluminum tape around the hoses

I can't vouch for your 54 but for sure in a Super Maramu the first place that I notice a bad smell that indicates the bilge needs cleaned is in the forward heads.
