I believe the specs for the Super Maramu Engine Hatch struts (gas springs) are:
585mm extended
345mm closed
8mm shaft
10mm bolt hole
400N - strength

I replaced my gas struts from Maud at Amel Chantier. The cost was $ 133.85 for the pair including shipping. You might think it high, but at least they were the right size and strength.

Basically yes, shouldn't be a bare wire though..yellow with a green stripe, as big a gauge as you can deal with and write on it "SSB" ....

I hunted car parts businesses in Vila, Vanuatu last year and found a pair that matched from a hatchback car . I took an old one with me to copy.
