Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Toilet fresh or raw
Drain the bowl, add 2 liters of white vinegar, pump dry.
Close the through hull. No smell or scaling.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Second Holding Tank Failure
Hello Derick,
I am afraid that I gave the dimensions to my turner and did not get them back. From memory, the hold in the bottom of the holding tank is 39mm tothe top part of the pipe

Bill,
I don't think so as I think the first pipe failed before I added the blue which is only household blue and not the stuff they put on planes. I added the dispenser at the end of

You may well be right John. So far, since converting to fresh water flush, I have not had to remove the pipes and descale them but that is not to say that scale is not being formed. Maybe more

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Maramu Halyard leads
#29, as Dave said, is still all external halyards. I like it that way.
My only problem is not having enough halyards, so next time the masts are
down I'll do something like fit a plate to the top

To add to what David wrote it would be a good idea to replace the navigation lights the steaming right and the wires for the VHF with heavier cables

Amel 55 - Anyone have rig dimensions (I, J, P, E)
Does anyone know the actual rig dimensions for the 55? Amel isn't publishing much in the way of detail other than sail areas which is totally useless if you're a sailmaker trying to work up some

Andy,
On Hull #29, we had the original Isomat masts with external halyards. I'd suggest removing the masts for a thorough inspection on stands if that they have not been overhauled in the past 10 or

Kent,
It is extremely difficult to tell the difference, but they are different.
I recently saw a package of foam seals from Amel and they were separated with a red string tying the two like foam seals
