Gear Box Greasing

I drilled and tapped my gearboxes with a M5 tap. The same sizeas the adapter for the autoprop. In this way I don’t have to insert a zerkfitting to grease the gearboxes. I also drilled one

We might have been the other one - we sailed to Annapolis. Had lunch and tacked back South.
Adagio and we are mored at Herrington South.

An MPPT controller is a solar panel regulator connected between the solar panels and the batteries...no AC connection...hence no earth connection

I removed the motor as far as I could (on anchor, to take the motor out complete I would have to open all the cables) and put some grease in the gearbox, now it is better, maybe only

As always, Joel's answer is spot on. However what he didn't emphasize was that your "touch-up" idea will be unsatisfying. Any part of the trim with bare wood showing will finish differently

Ok the grease is from the lube system for the shaft when free wheeling the prop using the prop shaft alternator.
The indent is part of the dynamic water speed system.
