Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Front opened refrigerator
Paul,
The fan is two speed. The lower speed is quieter, but less efficient. I suppose Amel did this for some owners that objected to the noise. There is no red light indicator on SM 387, but possibly

Fan Speed front opening refrigertaor and interesting other info.
Paul,
I was lead to believe that it was just meant to lower the noise level in the saloon when someone is sleeping there. I always leave it on high.
I also noticed that this reefer was not

Hi Mike, I am not sure if we share the same rudder post design, but I posted a photo of mine so you could compare. It looks like the factory drilled a hole in my white nut to thread seizing wire thru

Re: What Should the temp of the C-drive be while running?
Liz,
We were sailing today and ran the Yanmar 100 Turbo for about 30 minutes as we entered the marina. It was now high speed but ran long enough to reach the low operating temperature of 40 Celsius. I

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] What Should the temp of the C-drive be while running?
I’m no Guru but an infrared thermometer is one of my favorite diagnostic tools as with all things that move, animate and inanimate, when things are not normal, the temps go either up or down.

Re: What Should the temp of the C-drive be while running?
One more piece of info: We're running at 2700 RPM because we're following Yanmar's instructions for the break-in period of the new engine. Apparently this new engine wants to be run at a higher RPM

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: Question regarding procedures for aligning engine on SM
Olivier, Thanks for your reply. It seems that everyone has first lifted the engine ,then the cradle and I can't help but think I'm missing something , but I cannot see why I need to detach the engine.

Re: Topping lift replacement
I have done it twice on a SM and both main and mizzen. It is straight forward. Use a piece of small line attaché to the bungee end near the mast so that you have a line to pull the new bungee end.

there aren't any hydraulics in your bow-thruster system.

Ian and Judy Jenkins on Pen Azen use a piece of pantyhose hung like a sock over the drain pipe that empties the kitchen sink into the bilge.
