Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Maramu #105 - Cerulean Needing Davit Advice
We have a Carib CX8 that is 285 cm long, I guess that will be around 8ft6in. We have it on the roof of the aft cabin with a slide that we, very simply, attach over the stern, use the electrical winch

I believe that there are few davits that are strong enough and stable enough to support your dinghy while sailing. Maybe Simpson Davits, but they will cost more than you want to pay...and I am not

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Amel Santorin overview
I apologize for my short comment earlier.
I think the sloop is an error but the ketch is a balanced and solid Amel vessel. I’ve seen some fine examples!

Mark,
The data comes compressed from Predict wind and has unlimited text and data in the plan.
I can download all the weather data now for free on SSB, However you can receive their route analysis

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Predict wind program
I have not tried this specific combo. We are not big fans of data over
Iridium (until they move to the new satellites, if ever). It is very slow.
It may be better with compression software.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Quality Marine Surveyor New York City area (that knows Amel) - wanted
Roy ,
I do not think there is a surveyor in Ny that knows Amels.
However I have had dave do work for me in the past and he was very thorough.
I have known him for about 20 years.

Elmer,
The ketch is regarded as being a lttle more balanced than the sloop as the main mast is in the same position. Sloops can be a little cheaper and supposedly harder to sell but that may mean

Maramu #105 - Cerulean Needing Davit Advice

I've decided to get a 8ft6in RIB for our trusty Cerulean and wanted to discuss the various options (from custom to premade + hybrid).
Would like to keep the cost to a minimum
