I think the key problem is one of energy storage - hydrocarbons store a lot of energy per ml and batteries come nowhere near this, so until someone invents an electrical storage system that could hold

I haven't found a single link or blog of a cruising boat that is either all electric or even hybrid. I guess in theory a hybrid

No, the generator neutral is not connected to earth in Elyse.
