Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Shower head and sink tap replacement.
Greets Bob,
I just roamed Penguin Engineering in UK and they probably have what you need…
They have my shower heads and taps for the toilet sinks.

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: furlers gear box lubrication
These gearboxes are "lubricated for life" according to the label. I guess that means that when they run out of life they are no longer lubricated.
An old one that I took off was definitely filled with

Re: Shower head and sink tap replacement.
The shower mixer is GROHE brand, this is well known in the bathroom fittings business. The sink mixer is a generic unit, I have one in my house, you can buy these complete units from a plumbing shop

Thank you for this information. Being in EU should be easy to deal with Penguin in the UK.

You could try Penguin Engineering in Uk. They supply Barka Italian products. Not sure about the Super Maramu but the quality and appearance is a good replacement for older Amels. On their website

Re: Shower head and sink tap replacement.
Does anyone have a source for the control/mixer/thermostat? Price? Key parts? I keep wondering what to do if it fails. Amel Owner top priorities--Toilets, Engine and Fresh Water! In that order.

I was working on the Seagull water filter and noticed that they are not NPT threads like normal pipe. I found out that they are compression fitting threads which are a finer thread than NPT. Possibly

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Re: furlers gear box lubrication
Hi Vladimir,
On the Santorin and, I believe, some SM's, the gearbox is a Bonfiglioli Model VF44 with configuration P1 70 P63 B14 B3. That's a 70:1 reduction. On SM's I believe Amel also used Leroy

Re: [Amel Yacht Owners] Installation problem for stainless steel cast mixing elbow for YANMAR engine 4JH3
As Mike suggested I will pass on the nitty-gritty details (both the findings and my rationale for buying new) once I get my new engine installed and operational. I will also post photos of the salt

Thanks Craig, some are saying oil, some are saying Grease and one is actually recommending some mixture...however, Amel and all around the forum are mentioning grease though normally gear boxes

Good Day Jamie
Only as i'm wondering? You install a new engine in your amel 54?
What was your decision to do this investment? Saltwater intrusion ? And then you change the hole engine? Was it easy in

Hi Craig,
Thanks for good information.
Do you know Bofiglioli gear box part number for the gearbox that was modified for Amel application? Do you know the gearbox ratio? It is most likly warm gear

Hey Vladimir, hope life is good on "Life is Good?" I am sure you are having a good time down in Guadeloupe. I was there last year about this time, right before we met at the St. James Club in Antigua.

Hi Craigh, I think my problem of reverse bend of the upper part of main mast, is due to a DEFORMATION produced by having kept too straight the forestay and the backstay too slow with strong winds.
